Real awakenings are not elegant. They are messy, ugly, shattered and raw.
Welcome to my mess. I’m a lot. I require a lot of space. A whole lot. Unapologetically.
Real awakenings leave us feeling like we’re breaking then healing then breaking and healing. They leave us tired of cleaning up our own messes then revitalize and refreshed with shiny new breakthroughs, epiphanies and perspectives. We begin to wiggle and shift as we reach new depths. As we unearth buried treasures within our healing journey.
All is going well then we dig up some stuff that leaves a bigger mess than the last one.
We wonder if it’s ever going to end? Am I ever just going to be… HEALED?! Can I ever just be OK… indefinitely?
Yes…and no. It is an ongoing journey. I don’t want to say “never ending”. But you don’t know what you don’t know.
Just promise yourself to maintain your wellness toolbox. A literal or metaphorical box of tools that you have on you at all times. Because once you decided you wanted MORE and desire MORE, and are worth MORE…
You signed up for a life of mess
of cleaning
of digging
of healing
of building
of unearthing
of planting
of growing…
Remember— as your entire being rises and falls, breaks and heals, remember that you signed up for this. You said yes to the mess. And you wouldn’t have had it any. other. way.

Thank you for sharing this inspirational piece! I must say it takes a lot to “unearth” and bare out the mess because it means facing certain realities you never would first had have the guts too but it’s a necessary one!
