New Arrivals

Driven by ancestral wisdom and Traditional Indigenous Knowledge Systems (TIKS), our mission is to empower rural women by bringing high-quality wellness products to the world. We sustainably commercialize Zimbabwe’s unique, climate-resilient indigenous species, creating dignified livelihoods, fostering community resilience, and celebrating our heritage for the well-being of humanity and the planet.

Our Impact: Empowering Women, Building Resilience.

Women are the backbone of rural economies, particularly in Zimbabwe where they manage farms and households despite facing significant challenges. At Mambokadzi, our commitment to gender equality is woven into our very business model.
We empower rural women farmers in marginalized, climatically dry areas by providing a consistent and dignified income through the ethical sourcing of their underutilized, climate-resilient indigenous species for our wellness products. This directly addresses their economic vulnerability and fosters resilience against environmental shocks like drought.

Beyond sourcing, we create direct economic opportunities through our vendor program, enabling over 180 women across Africa and the diaspora to earn vital extra income by selling Mambokadzi products. We also operate the unique “Maricho” self-funding capital scheme, enabling women to collectively build assets like homes and cars, and ensuring consistent access to essential groceries for 6 months at a time. Furthermore, we invest in skill development through our herbalist certification program, equipping women with valuable knowledge and pathways to greater dignity and economic independence. These initiatives create a profound, lasting impact on women’s lives and the communities they sustain.

Empowering Women in the African Economy: Our Gender Equality Commitment

Women play a vital role in Africa’s economy; they account for over half of all farmers and are heavily involved in value addition and agricultural services. Despite their critical contributions, many women also shoulder the burden of managing homes and raising children, often without compensation.

At our foundation, Maricho, we prioritize the well-being and balance of our stakeholders by enabling women to achieve their objectives. We provide access to microcredits, community funding, medical aid, literacy programs, educational opportunities, and even holiday packages. Additionally, we’re passionate about promoting women’s leadership and bringing in expert trainers annually to help these ladies take charge.
Although these may seem like small steps, they create a significant impact on women’s lives and the communities they live in.

Preserving Traditional Artisanal Skills: Our Commitment

The loss of traditional skills is a significant issue that requires immediate attention. However, we at Mambokadzi believe in the value of these skills and strive to maintain their integrity. Our brand is synonymous with authenticity, expertise, tradition, and ancient wisdom. We are passionate about craftsmanship and creativity and work alongside local artists, providing them with a platform to showcase their talents and expertise. As a result, our stores offer exclusive, handcrafted creations and products for you to appreciate and enjoy. This is our way of contributing to the preservation of traditional artisanal skills.

Our Commitment to the Environment: Conservation and Sustainability

At Mambokadzi, we are dedicated to protecting the planet. Our ingredient-sourcing methods are carefully designed to be both ethical and eco-friendly. We are passionate about promoting sustainability, and in line with this, we educate rural communities on how to harvest native plants without negatively impacting the environment. Our entire supply chain is trained to preserve precious and medicinal plant species, including rare plants that may be at risk of extinction.

Commitment to reducing environment waste

Introducing Mambokadzis’ Three Rs: Recycle, Reduce, Refill
Our team is passionate about reducing pollution, and we’re taking action to make a difference. To decrease waste, we’ll be implementing an in-store recycling system for packaging. We also offer refillable options and use eco-friendly packaging. Our target is to use 100% recycled materials for all of our packaging by 2030 and to provide recycling services at all of our stores.

At Mambokadzis, we understand the importance of preserving the environment for future generations. We believe that every individual can make a difference in reducing waste and contributing to a cleaner planet. Our commitment to the Three Rs – Recycle, Reduce, Refill – is just one of the ways we’re doing our part.

By providing customers with refillable options, we’re reducing the need for single-use products and helping to decrease the amount of waste that ends up in landfills.

We’re constantly exploring new ways to improve our sustainability practices and reduce waste. Our goal is to be a leader in the industry when it comes to environmental responsibility. We believe that by working together, we can create a better future for our planet and the generations to come.
